Problems updating video drivers on m17x

I recently purchased an m17x with sli GTX 280M. I installed the drivers from dells website version 186.64, but I am having an issue when I try and play Dawn of War 2. The intro plays fine but when it goes to the main menu the screen just starts flickering and I can't do anything. So, I was going to try and update the nvidia drivers but when I download the latest 280m drivers from nvidia's site, the driver tells me it could not find the right hardware for those drivers?

How do I update my video drivers? Any ideas as to why my game would be flickering like that?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

Try fn+f7 to switch to discrete or disable integrated graphics in the bios manually.

Also make sure you selcetd the mobile drivers from the drop down menu on NVIDIA's site, it easy to just select the GTX series

Ok. I disabled Integrated graphics and I have tried both version 186.81 and 195.55 beta (Laptop versions of both). I have even gone as far as disabling one of the 280's in the device manager so the system is only seeing one 280m. I still get the same results, it says it can' find an appropriate driver for the hardware I have.

I forgot to mention I am running Windows 7 64-bit, I don't thinkn that sould make a huge difference. Has anyone installed the drivers from nvidias website without problems? If so, what versions?

Again thanks for the help, aside from this problem, I LOVE this laptop!

I personally would not update GPU driver at the moment direct from nVidia, but leaving to MS to pick up them up eventually for W7.

But if you are game with a 3rd party "nVidia" driver, give NBF MobileForce a shot.

Looks like a great resource, at a glance it looks like it may be normal that I can't get this installed. I will dig around, Thanks!

I downloaded mine from www.laptopvideo2go.com and with the modded .inf file, mine loaded perfectly. I am currently using 195.55 on my 280's in SLi mode. No problem!!

Laptop drivers are different than Desktop drivers. Unless you make modifications to a driver you download from the NVIDIA website it will not detect the cards.
