HELP PLEASE! Travelmate 4500 after pressing Power, not much...

Hello, at fist excuse my non perfect English, thank you. (it's a foreign language to me)

Okay, I really hope from my heart somebody can help me

The issue: I own a Travelmate 4500 and all was super, until 5 hours ago... (that's the time I already used to grow grey hair trying to find a solution )

Here exactly what happened:

(1) While working, he turned off (I thought loss of power, but the external HDD worked, so that wasn't it).

(2) I pressed Power, the white ACER screen came up, I pressed F2 to check the setup and was hoping that it was just a short clinch with minimal loss of data in windows, but... a few seconds later, the screen turned black..

(3) I pressed power again to turn it off, again to turn it on and this time, black already, no ACER white-screen at all...

(4) What happens if I press power now, is always the same > the fan starts, the DVD-Drive makes short sound + HDD starts (as it all should usually) -> but then after3 seconds or so, without beep, the fan turns off, the HDD keeps turning, but nothing else happens anymore - all black like dead

I hope I explained it good enough to enable you to help me, PLEASE!!

Millions of thanks in advance + all the best to everybody helping others here (I didn't find a solution searching so I thought I have to ask),

the desperate David in Trouble (I have exams in 2 days, isn't it great timing.. Murphy? Why me???)

PS: I "love" computers *sniff* - I'm luck it's no HDD crash, although... I have backups, so that wouldn't be that bad, but a non-working computer, aaargh

My first reaction would be to remove the battery and the ac adapter. Then press down the power button for about 30-40secs. Then plug the ac back in (no battery) and see if the notebook can be restarted.

cheers ...

Reset RAM. Did you try starting with system disk in? Unless something simple and silly likely major hardware failure, MoBo?
