Quanta SW1 Hinge?

Hello all, I was searching the web for quite some time now, but I had no success so far: I'm looking for a new pair of hinges for my QUANTA SW1 14,1" Notebook...the left one is broken after 2,5 years and it's not really any good anymore for mobile use. Any chance someone in here knows where to get the hinge for that specific notebook? thanks in advance, saphear

Have you tried theses peoples?
http://www.ctlcorp.com/v4/c-58-sw1-u640w-parts.aspx

They seem to carry a large inventory of SW1 parts.

Another observation is that this Quanta model looks similar to the ASUS S96. Parts can be exchangeable?

cheers ...

I'll give it a shot searching, but it would somehow not make sense, since Quanta, ASUS and Compal are the biggest notebook manufactors of all...so I doubt parts from quanta will be exchangeable with asus parts, but i'll give it a shot, thanks for the hint! *EDIT* Checking out CTL Corp right now, thanks for that link as well!

I know that Quanta builds for notebook resellers, but I thought Quanta, Compal and Asus are basically at the same level, all building for others? (And Quanta and Compal being the ones not selling too much themselves..Asus does) If I'm wrong, I'm always happy to learn some more

A simple way to say this, is that Quanta is a system (board and some devices) builder, whereas ASUS (HP, Dell, Gateway, Acer ...) is a brand manufacturer using Quanta as system supplier. So there are times where (per example) a Sager shares the same specs as a Medion or Eurocom.
