I own a 6935 and I havea problem. I installed windows 7 and installed all new drivers from the acer website. All software from acer is working except acer epower management.

When I open epower on my notebook it loads the top poppup screen. It cant load epower management. I get the the message "epower management main forum doesnt work" anybody some advice?

I'm not eligible for an update because I bought my notebook before june 26 2009. I bought my windows version because of that. You would say acer has working drivers on their site, but they only have vista drivers. As you allready stated acer should do something about the drivers.

update:

I called acer today. They said i should do an upgrade but because i'm not eligible for an update i cant. So I said they should deliver specific software for windows 7 on their site for download. They said I should write a complain letter, Yeah sure...I should do something? No! Acer has to make software compatible! I rest my case.

I am on your side in this case. Even though the models are not eligible for upgrade, the software should be made available for Vista (models) users wanting to move to Windows 7. It should not be so hard comparing to going from XP to Vista or W7.

I think you missed the point of my previous post. If you download the upgrade DVD you will find the drivers you need.

Hi Michelle, on a serious note, I have read this almost from the start. And I am confused. I might be missing something.

I understand OP is not eligible for the upgrade, I assume free from Acer for Windows 7? Cool but I read as they are withholding what for simplicity sake is a driver to allow an Acer function to work? I mean I completely get OP not eligible for W7 upgrade free. But if OP buys W7 why does Acer not provide what I would classify as a driver even if not technically? If OP bought W7 on his own what is he/she supposed to upgrade? Only offer if you buy W7 from them?

Drivers have always been free and easily available. Reason is if you bought a HP printer it is in HP's interest to offer free drivers. Drivers are not pirated as what is the point? You have the hardware you want it to work? Right? If HP restricted access to drivers people would not buy HP printers or any other vendors products. It is in the interest of vendors to provide. That is what throws me? Why would they not and if they do why would forces consumers to buy W7 upgrade through them help in any business model I can think of?

Like I said I might of missed the big picture. But I think OP might be confusing tech support. I can't believe if they understand the question they say you are not eligible for driver support.

And Michelle if your work around works great. Acer support should be able to suggest that.

Anyway if I am wrong there is a double face palm photo in Google images. Bring Picard and #1 on.

PS I made the daily high poster screen!

Well ... OP was able to get all drivers working except for the ePower management. I recommended Michelle's DVD upgrade, but it seems that the upgrade disk covers only drivers and not the specific & special apps from Acer. If that is the case, then Acer should make the special apps available on the site for download, especially when the comp previously came with Vista

the DVD actually has bios updates, drivers and applications for all models that are eligible. Just because you are not "eligible" you can still download it. If you model is on that list you will find some useful software.

The upgrade DVD is not W7, but only has stuff useful if you do upgrade. You don't even have to use the OEM W7, I have used retail W7 discs to upgrade a unit and then use the Acer upgrade DVD for drivers

The dvd even has a wizard that will install the updated stuff for your specific model.
