M-6850FX Blu-Ray/battery upgrade

Im looking to upgrade my M-6850FX laptop. My battery life is horrible and I was wanting to know what the longest lasting battery I could get.

Also
My optical drive is not working and I need to replace that as well. I was wanting to possibly put in a blu-ray drive and was wondering what I need to look for and what will work with my model.

We have some stickies in this section about upgrading and swapping out optical (blu-ray) drive. Take a look at them.

Not quite sure about the battery itself.

cheers ...

You might want to check the type of battery you have in there now. If it came like that from manufacturer, it is undoubtedly a 6 cell. Look into a 9 cell for that model if they are available

for the battery, you can get a 9 cell. It uses the same battery as the 17 inch P series laptops.

for the blueray, you can use the BC-5500A drive and swap over your existing bezel if you have a tray loading drive.

for blueray software, you would need to get the retail versions to play it. The HD2600 video will help accelerate Bluray decoding.
