Would this be the same as saying that a Ferrari does not care what grade of gasoline one puts in its tank?

cheers ...

They seem to take turns writing bad drivers
There's a whole thread on another forum dedicated to people trying different drivers for different games because of performance issues. Consider yourself lucky.

Actually I always wonder if there is as need to mess (tweak) with different drivers, if one can just first try sticking with one and play with different settings first.

Not saying that one lid fits all, but at least it can cover the majority of pots/pans.

Over time, and many cards I've had more luck with Nvidia drivers. However, I won't argue that the Red team has significantly more advanced hardware atm. I just always considered it an advantage that Nvidia had a number of drivers to choose from. With ATI, you often have only 1 or 2 and if they don't work you are just OOL.

The ATI vs. nVidia thing is a flavor of the month decision, imho. The pendulum swings back and forth, and it just depends on the timing of your personal hardware upgrade cycle as to which manufacturer holds the current lead.

Four years ago I was in the market for a comp, and nVidia was kicking ATI's derriere. Now it seems the roles have reversed. Two years from now, who knows?

So, play the hot hand and cross your fingers it lasts.

It's not that big of a difference making it harder for people. Not to mention both are available in the same system.

I whole-heartingly agree with this statement.

Yep each has it's "high market point" for sure. Nvidia is coasting on a very old chip design atm. And these days, at the high end at least, the difference is not so bad that anyone feels horrible for the choice made.
