Replacing backlight

Thread Starter
As mentioned in a previous post, I had a reddish tint to my laptop screen at bootup, then after about 5 mins the screen would go dark with faint images visible in the LCD. Able to see them better with flashlight. Thought it might be inverter, so replaced it using:
http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptop...inverter-1.htm.
Problem still persists so now I imagine that its the backlight. Using the above instructions, could someone please clarify where the Backlight tube is located and how to access it.
I am not about to spend the money for a new lcd if it comes to that.
Thanks

Yeah, I went there after posting and have found a couple.
Might give it a try. Dunno, might just buy a cheapo LCD if avail.
I'll mull it over

Go for a cheapo LCD Backlight requires some soldering and quite delicate to tinker with.
