Just got my M17x

And i have to say im frustrated.I have the 280m's and for some reason im getting alot of freezing and locking up.I had to do a recovery after smething happened where it would freeze after about 15sec of logging in.I updated windows and still the system just fells unstable..like its gonna lock up any minute.Will be calling dell tomorrow i guess...and also my little UFO key for command center doesnt work.Anyways...thats my 2cents.Also i cant disable sli...wont let..i must be missing something.

I got the same problem with you.....
i just got mine today but mine is equipped with 4870...
my m17x seems like it doesn't know how to CFX

Whats the differance in ProgramFiles(86x) and ProgramFiles? Is there one or the other i should be installing games and such in?

Don't change this Win7/Vistsa will put your games it in the right place. The difference is ProgramFiles(x86) is for 32bit apps.

Intalled FEAR...Fear has Stopped working after 10min of play.Installed Rvegas2...Rvegas2 Stopped Working after 15min of play.Grrrrrrrrrr

not sure, but what are the temps in C

if your temps are above 90 C is would explain the freeze ups

did you change any BIOS settings ?

hmm cant even get it to play for more than a few a few min now...one gpu said 40c and the other 52c,assuming i set up rivatuner correctly.cpu usuage at the time the screen froze was 92%..not sure if that means anything.No changed nothing in the bios other than the thing you do to be able to enable/disable sli...i gotta disable it for wow i was told

I may suggest a fresh install of the OS and drivers

Its possible something has corrupted

and by reinstalling you mean the whole OS and not respawn to factory settings correct?

Yep - I would go with the OS re-installation and applying the drivers yourself, as Dave recommended.

keep us posted. I didnt try playing games on the factory installed settings, I just clean installed the OS and I have no issues...

Reinstalled OS...reinstalled games....r6vegas2 crashed over and over...i changed the compatability to xp sp2 and it works great now.Though wow crashes alot now...some memory not found im getting....trying differant drivers now.I ran 3dmark06 and its the highest score i got so far.I got 10990 with sli disabled and 12857 with sli enabled.Is that about right? no oc'ing or anything like that.I never posted scores before but i found a link to it I think. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=12618264 Noticed that the GPU came up as 180m not 280m,not sure why.

How about giving our own NBF Mobile Force driver a shot? Make sure that you follow the installation instruction to the letter.
