M15X is it really worth it?

Ok so the Alienware M15X looks really cool but is it really worth the $1,849.99?

Aside from the neat casing what makes it better than other laptops?

Don't get me wrong I want one mainly because it's the cool thing to do...lol however I would rather not pay that much and have to upgrade again in another year.

For those that have this system how do you like it?

Are there any other systems you're comparing it to?

Yoob@NBF has an M15x and I currently have a Sager NP8690. I would compare the both of them, as they have high-end GPUs, i7, etc. Each one has their own pros and cons, but they are the absolute fastest 15" laptops you can get as of right now. The M15x has better battery life, but the NP8690 has absolute speed. The M15x is more visually appealing, but the NP8690 is more professional looking (ie: it can go to a meeting and not look out of place). the M15x is a bit heavier though, however it, much like the Sager has GREAT cooling. It's a crapshoot because at the level you're at (15" gaming rig), there aren't a lot of choices that are legitimately designed for gaming. The M15x should be good for 2 to 3 years, and while it is "the cool looking one", if you go to a university or college, you will get the stink-eye from professors who think you're doing nothing but gaming. Both the M15x and the NP8690 are very solidly built.

I would go NP8690 if you want absolute power with little regard to battery life or attractive design, or M15x if you want to game, look "cool" and have decent battery. Both though, are VERY good machines.
