HP DV7-3074

Hi all,

I just bought a DV7-3074 with 2x500gb drives. I'd like to enable raid, but it seems that option is locked out of the BIOS.

From my research, the chipset is the Intel PM55 which does support raid through Intel's Matrix Storage Manager.

Am I missing something or is HP crippling this machine on purpose?

It is more of HP preference than anything else. Hopefully a new BIOS would come out soon. I would not be surprised if they offer another HP D7 model down the road with RAID enable.
