Just swap it out and make sure that new thermal paste is being used - and do NOT overtighten the screws that hold the heatsink down, and follow the sequence.

now im just wondering when i put it in will it just work or do i have to change the bios or something ? sorry if i sound stupid hahaha
post #10 of 11
50/50 on that I would start without but I don't know about the lights. Keyboards usually don't require BIOS but being backlit? Oh and all that would likely happen is backlit not working. I doubt if model was offered as both difference is at BIOS level.
^^ Agreed. You won't need a BIOS update. Good luck.

cheers ...
