Gateway t-6330u

Hey guys. I have a Gateway T-6330u that is my parents and them not being very tech savvy managed to mess it all up. It was pretty FUBAR'd when I got it so I did a clean install of vista premium on it. It seems to be fine now, but I am having issues with installing the drivers. In my device manager there is an unknown device called "Network Controller" that I cant find a driver for on gateways site. The wireless card will not function either, even though I have the slider button on and Fn+F2 pressed to ligt up the wireless signal icon near the touchpad. I have hooked it up wired to my router and have downloaded about every relevant driver from gateways' site but none are fixing my problems. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also when they got it from Best Buy they did not receive any restore or recovery disks.

Try download Everest Home and see what brand the devices are in your comp, then get the appropriate drivers for it - removing the previous drivers first.

Is Vista up to date? Try again the Intel Matrix storage controller?

cheers ...

look at the FCC sticker on the bottom. it will tell you which wifi card you have.

most likely, I am betting it has a atheros card. maybe a realtek card.

ahhh thank you Michelle. It was an artheros card. getting vista to work was painful, but luckily I got 7 Ultimate from my school at a lowered price...installed like a charm....it was unreal how easy it was.
