i would like the fastest, lightest, most energy efficient technologically advanced hard drive that money can buy for my old laptop. please help.

hahaha. just kidding. seriously, i am upgrading the RAM and was considering a new hard drive as well. however, i am confused on what should work especially because the laptop is getting old. i do not need a ton of GB, 60 would be fine. my goal was to get a faster one. could anyone post a link of some from tiger direct that might work? is 7200 my limit? would 10000 work?

thanks for your help

i found this link but it is from 2007:

The ATA/100 EIDE is what you need to look at for a new HDD.

I think this would be about the best deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] _-22146052

should this work?

The 60gig mentioned is a S-ATA drive, the NewEgg 100gig is what you need.

10K as I understand is only being made available on desktops, not on notebooks.

7200rpm IDE 2.5" drives can be expensive and hard to get. I personally rely on eBay for this.

cheers ...
