Asus K40IJ Problems

Hi Guys!

I bought an Asus K40IJ yesterday and I have 2 problems so far. I tried to visit the Asus Forums earlier but it's currently down. Here are my current problems:

1. When I installed XP SP2, I divided the 320 MB hard disk drive into 2 partitions: each 160 MB. When everything was finished, I can only see 1 hard disk drive under My Computer. Where should I find the other one?

2. During the installation of drivers, I notice that it restarts itself after every Microsoft Update/KB. It installed a lot of drivers. On the last part of the installations, it doesn't shutdown. It stays on the "Windows is Shutting Down" page. I have to manually press the power button to turn on/off the notebook and it would resume installing the drivers. Every drivers were installed but everytime I shutdown the computer, it stays on the same window. It won't shutdown. I tried to remove ALL Startup items using MSCONFIG but it didn't resolved the issue. Any suggestions?

Btw, I haven't downloaded any updates from Microsoft nor install the SP3.

1. You might have to activate the other partition, making it active or format it under data storage management.

2. Start the Windows updates and see if the issue goes away.

cheers ...
