Decent price, no hassle. Both items should be here middle next week.

Hope I wasn't too impulsive? Would love to have found the notebook for $1,100 or less...

Both the cooler and the notebook shipped Today. Ima gonna power 'em up/connect/register upon shipment receipt...maybe do a little poking around, you know make sure they work. Then the Ol' lady's gonna wrap 'em/put up under the tree. This was supposed to be my son's Birthday gift 2nd week of Jan...now what?

Saw the laptop went up from $1,199.99 (free S&H) to $1,249.99 (+ $16.00 S&H) @ NewEgg sometime Today...squeaked by rite nicely on that one. 'Course if I be waited till last minute/best price, it woulda became unavailable I'm sure. So cynical Leroy is. Next time I'm leisurely buying from GenTech PC.

What gets me is, the laptop is now $100 Instant Discount. But last nite it was $80 Instant Discount??? Freaking NewEgg.

Call them up and complain. Never know, you might get $20 gift certificate

cheers ...

What I meant was...I bought the G51Vx-X3A last Thu nite for a Grand total of $1,199.00 (free shipping/$80.00 instant discount). The Unit or Original Price last Thu nite upon purchase was $1,279.00. If purchased presently (or Fri nite when I made my last post) Grand total would be $1,265.99 ($16.00 shipping/$100.00 instant discount) with a Unit or Original price of $1,349.99. If I was to call them now they would make me give them back sixty seven!

Cooler should be here tomorrow (UPS shows scanned out for local delivery) and the laptop looks on schedule to arrive Wed. It left Los Angeles, CA In Transit to Houston, TX Sat @ 05:00.

Let me do a little pre-receipt review.

For Grand total $1,405 Leroy could have bought a G51J-A1 from GenTech PC/others. That machine has an i7, twice the HDD, DDR3 RAM and it comes with a wired gaming mouse and decent backpack. If I was reviewing that notebook, I would probably mention I would prefer it not come with the backpack/mouse and drop the price $100 or more.

How much you wanna bet Leroy reviews the actual purchased laptop and laments that for $1,199.00 it should have at least came with a wired gaming mouse/decent backpack.

Notebook arrived this morning right on time. Cooler actually arrived yesterday but picked both up from the UPS 'r' US place this evening.

Laptop be purty. I did break it out just to make sure everything was included and no physical damage. Friday nite I'm gonna highly recommend Joey (my son) spends the nite with a friend. That'll give me a chance to actually power-up/config/register and overall play with it for a few hours, before the Ol' Lady snatches and wraps. If something sits around here too long, she has it wrapped and under the tree.

Funny I don't see nuttin' with my name on it under there...

As long as wife doesn't wrap you up when you are relaxing I think you are par for the course.

Very cute ... Did you check the weight?

The weight of the machine? I think it's like 7 lbs with the 6 cell. I picked it up with one hand on the right side where the DVD drive is located - it kinda creaked and I felt a little give. Probably don't wanna do that on a regular basis.

One thing I didn't anticipate is, the old Cricket UM100C air cards don't play nice with Win 7 Home Premium. Cricket say's the "new" A600 modem will work...so down to the store I goes...

Well justa 'bout got everything installed, upgraded/updated and registered. No glitches at all thru this grueling 12 hour config session. WoW update is still chewing away.

The hardest part was keeping all the lil' bastid's hands off of it while I be "working". Nice machine...I want one!!!

I'll get some pix and a NewEgg type review, once it's put thru some real action.

Very Merry Christmas Day at Leroy's house...I got some cool Hendrix long johns BTW.

Yeah I know it's 02:30, but me and Joey both be invested.

WoW finally completed it's thang (about 10 hours, slow connection), now he slaps me five hi and states, "I'm gonna stay up till the breaka day!" Then he actually hugged me and said, "Thank you Dad. Merry Christmas."

Well shucks, that's all I really wanted. He's a good kid...though if he's still up when his mother wakes or even worse...when she makes the 03:00 zombie schweep!!!

"WoW be there in the morning son, take your butt to schleep", I say fading fast...mmmhmmm. We're both timing the Ol' Lady round of terror...

22 min to go before the zombie sweep then Cleo
