CD/DVD Device Driver on Win 7 Install?

I'm trying to do a clean install of Win 7. It boots off of the dvd and after I click the install button in the gui, it asks for a device driver for the cd/dvd drive. I cant go any further than that and can't find a driver on any of my install DVDs. I have the blu ray reader combo drive. I googled this issue and it seems pretty wide spread. The only remedy by others seemed to change to ATA mode in the bios. I haven't tried it, and I don't want to do that since I am using RAID 0. Has anyone had this issue?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

just to clarify

it's asking for a driver for the CD ROM or the Hard Drive ?

If it's the CD ROM, there would be no option for changing to ATA mode.

I have the standard DVD +/- R Drive and no issues installing Win 7.

if it is an issue with Windows reconizing the Blu ray Drive, try searching for a Windows driver by the Drive model (manufacter's Site)
the ATA. AHCI or Raid option is for the hard Drive selection

Windows 7 should have the raid drivers already, but if not you can try

I ended up having to put the chipset drivers on a usb stick and point to those during the win 7 install. It then worked. The weird thing is that I wanted to do a non raid install and only one hard drive would show up. The only way both would show up is if it was set to raid in the bios. I tried both native and legacy ahci in the bios with the same results of only showing one drive during win 7 install. I didn't try ata mode.

well I expect the Win 7 version of Ntune will be relased soon if not already, and would suggest making a slip streamed Windows install CD

I had no problems loading Windows 7 from my blu-ray drive. I got my m17x yesterday, and I did a clean install of Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit from my MSDN disk last night. I had no problems with the install, except for an entry called "coprocessor" in the device manager. I right-clicked the entry, which was listed as an "other device" and told it to update the driver and pointed it to the folder where the chipset driver had extracted. The nForce stuff loaded and everything is running great.

If your win7 install in RAID is asking for a device driver, it is most likely asking for the raid chipset driver.
So, as stated before.. just extract the nforce chipset drivers to a usb stick and pop that in and when it asks for the driver during install just point to that folder and let it go.

Worked for me.

I have a raid array, and did not have to install any drivers, Win 7 should reconize the array and go from there.

Me too. RAID 0 and a blu-ray optical drive, and Windows 7 recognized everything just fine. If I had to guess, I would say that it is an incorrect BIOS setting.
