Need PhysX help

Small problem: Recently reformatted my PC and it has the Aegia PhysX card in it. When I install the latest PhysX drivers (9.9.112) it wont give me the option to use my Aegia card, only the GPU PhysX.

Now when I install version 8.09.04 it shows up flawlessly and I'm able to choose my Aegia card, however, when I update it even to version 9.09.0203 it gives me the same problem, no option for Aegia.

Anyone know whats going on?

Thanks

The latest PhysX driver is only a runtime driver and doesn't include drivers for the AGEIA card. If you install 9.09.0203 first and then update to the latest driver, Windows should recognize the AGEIA card.

Once it's installed you'll need to disable PhysX in nVidia control panel as this will use the GPU for PhysX. After disabling it in nVidia Control Panel you can go to PhysX Properties in the nVidia PhysX folder in Program Files and in that enable PhysX on the AGEIA card and your card should be working again.

Good luck.

Is your gpu one of the newer ones? aka I """believe'"" 9000 series nvidia and up include aegia and works insanely well. I haven't researched at all, but it's possible that the older driver was made before this nvidia physics acceleration became more mainstream.
The only other thing I can think of is installing the aegia driver first, then the vcard.

WOW glad I read this!! , I had disabled GPU physx in Nvidia panel on my M1730 and assummed that the Ageia card was running , however checking as per above it was disabled anyway it is enabled now will have to check something to see if it improves performance or not.

Hmm , further update , I happen to stray into the Nvidia control panel and noticed after updating as per above that that the Set Phsyx GPU radio button was now enabled , I disabled it and went back to the Programs -> Nvidia -> Phsyx properties and low and behold this was disabled so they are linked which confuses me some what as Nvidia control panel states against the enable radio button

"Physx processing will occur on a GPU allowing.... etc"

which implies in the case of the M1730 it will use one of the GPU's (In fact I believe this option is greyed out if you have a single GPU)

However the Physx Properties panel states

"Enable Ageia Phsyx acceleration " and if you select this the option to reset the ageia card appears which if selected returns the message

"The PhysX 100 Series Processor reset properly." which I assumme refers to the onboard card

so........... what is going on and when is the ageia card enabled and the Nvidia GPU option not!
