Advent 7083 problem

Hi i have an advent 7083.....I have had a previous problem with my laptop before which i have yet not found with a charging problem, Now i have another problem when i have the lappy up and running with the battery in or without, the screen will some time flash dim and then bright again and then decides to shut down does anybody know what this could be ??

Video card failing? Try running it for a long period of time under Safe Mode?

Check the power saving modes under the operating systems power options, set it to always on and see what happens...
