Hopefully simple Clevo Boot sequence question?

Thread Starter
Happened accross this forum whilst looking at a pc for a mate, first post so please be gentle with me.

Mate has a Clevo Model D9T, (Product code D900T?), which is refusing to boot. Having asked me to have a quick look, (he thinks I know about computers cos I built one many moons ago), it seems XP is getting so far and then re-starting.

To try and fix this I thought I'd do a chkdsk/r from a copy of XP, (worked a couple of times before so thought I'd give it a go on his as well).

This is where the problem lies. I boot the pc, hit F2 to get into the BIOS so I can tell the pc to boot from the CD-ROM, but, for the life of me I cant tell the thing to go to the CD ROM first up.

Looking at the BIOS, (Phoenix cME FirstBIOS Pro Setup Utility), the CD ROM is set to IDE 1, and the boot sequence will not let me choose this device, (no options for CD ROM at all from what I can see?). IDE0_M and IDE0_S are there but nothing for IDE1?

Any ideas as to how I can get this thing to boot from CD will be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

What version of BIOS are you using? Try this one and restart. Just be careful, I am not responsible for you bricking the comp

cheers ...
