Timings?

Hey guys, I've been attempting to edit the timings of my m1710 in prepiration for getting windows 7 on here and making everything generally faster.

I've been sucessful in doing so to my ram, but am unable to change the CAS Latency (or the first value). I believe it has something to do with the bios locking in that value at startup. Now other than getting fairly expensive ram with a CAS of 4 already, I was curious if there are any workarounds thus far for changing the CAS to 4 from 5. Pc5300 ddr2 ram

These are some tests I did tonight without being able to change that setting, and it seems as if 5-4-4-12 works fairly well opposed to 5-5-5-15, with 5-3-3-9 showing no advantage really, probably due to that damn tCL value of 5.
Could anyone explain also why I'm still getting some preformace increase? And why's the refresh interval make such a difference?

Thanks a lot in advance guys, really appreciate it.

I'm using the latest memset and rightmark memory analyzer for these numbers.

And another thing that has **** me off.

I tried putting in a 2gb stick to see what would happen, turns out to be slower as I expected. But now with my original configuration, Rightmark Memory Analyzer shows me having a latency increase of 10us! Just like the 1x1gb 1 x2gb config!! What gives?! Why?
I'd really love an answer or two to all this stuff. therefore BUMP / SMASH!

Try getting your hands on some faster RAM and underclocking it? Might be more stable.
