I was wondering currently i have 1333mhz ram 2x2gb

the windows index score is 5.9

would using Cl5 Hyperx 1066mhz ram speed up the sytem or increase the score?

thanks for any advice

The amount of Memory determines the sub-score of WEI, not the speed!

Then everyone who has 4GB would have the same score. So that can't be right.

Same sub-score in memory.

cheers ...

You're referring to the specific memory score. I'll check my M17x and M17 tonight. I didn't think they were the same.

5.9 is the windows 7 score for ram, its the lowest of all the scores and it seems weird for 1333mhz 4gb ram.

have seen others with much higher with 4gb.

My comp has 4gig DDR3-800 and the score at 5.9

Sure, it seems "weird" having the same score as the 4gig1333mhz, is it not?

OK i have cracked the mystery!!

Those who diasble the intergrated graphics get a score of 7.3

with hybrid active the score is 5.9

guess its the inbuilt graphics card use of the ram that alters the score.

still intrested in wether hyper x 1066 and cl5 is quicker than 1333mhz cl9?

not geeky enough to know yet

@photoscubaman: Check the thread in my sig. The original post talks about all the hardware I've tested with the M17x.

@q: 6.8 for my M17 and 7.3 for my M17x.

By the way Cat 9.12 is out. I got a 800 point jump in Vantage with it.

Same amount of ram, different speed? Would you put up some pics on the CPU-Z SPD on both systems?

cheers ...

To NWGuru

Great thread i really liked the part about how to overclock the qx9300.

I couldnt get 3ghz stable before now its running at 3.2ghz are there any draw backs to diabling the driver to the cpu?

because the system is running great at the moment

thanks

There could be issue with Intel SpeedStep meaning less battery life. I honestly only do it when benchmarking.

No worries

think i probebly will do the same, I never use it on battery anyway.

although i did try the dpc latency checker to see if this mod helped. i managed a very impresive 137000 spike!

Yes, as far as latency goes the dual cores score better. Try setting your processor affinity to 2 cores, core 0 and 1 and run DPC again.
