M17x checking file on system C

Hi guys,

I noticed yesterday and today everytime I turn on my M17x I get checking file system on C. The type of file system is NTFS. One of your disk needs to be checked for consistency. This started happening yesterday afte one of my games froze and I had to push on the alien head to power off. I have done this a few times before when its frozen. When I allow it to check and let the countdown go to 0 it freezes. It never does the check. I am using Windows 7. This is a month old M17x. Any ideas on how to get rid of this or fix it. I dont think the HD is failing. Thanks.

I tried it and restarted and it still says checking file system on C. Could you please go through the steps for me. I appreciate it.

For anyone wondering I fixed my issue. Called Alienware. I had to unseast my HDD and the little lithium battery. Must have reset something. Dont have the error anymore.

Never heard that as a fix for it. There's another fix within the registry you can do but basically the OS has marked the volume as dirty and the "/X" should remove that dirty flag. Glad it worked for you.
