M275 Restore Disk

I have 2 M275 tablets. I was given a copy of the restore DVD to reload them. The DVD has the Windows XP key built in but it is not in the winnt.sif file. Does anyone know where it is located?

Don't you have the key underneath your tablets?

Yes, but I would like to make a disk with no key in it. I made one for Dell by editing the winnt.sif file.

I think that winnt.sif file is looking to another hidden "unattend.txt" for the key reference and/or under the [UserData] tag of winnt.

No unattend.txt or winnt.sif on the Gateway restore disk. it must be in another file

You looked under "hidden" files (turn the switch on)?

Yes

I guess the only thing to do is to install/recover it and create a new set of recovery DVD with your own key.

oh its been ages since I worked with XP so I dont remember it exactly anymore, but I believe that key is stored in the file OOBEInfo.inf (or .ini dunno wich)

EDIT: or maybe "gwoobeinfo.ini", found an actual copy of one of those files on my flash drive from when I worked at eMachines/Gateway, but I might have renamed it (that was a looooong time ago so I dont remember)
