Acer Aspire 4720Z wifi issue

Thread Starter
Hi,

I am using NETGEAR wifi router configured to use WPA2-PSK encryption ; All other laptop & phone are working on this setting.

4720Z is detecting the network but it is unable to connect, Even it didn't ask for 'KEY' when I tried to connect to my network.
It just says ''Windows unable to connect...."

Please help and suggest what should I do ?

Thanks,
Chits

OS : WinXP Media Center Edition.
Acer Aspire 4720Z
WIFI Card; Atheros AR5007EG

I'm having a very similar issue with my acer aspire 8730 and it's wireless adaptor. i've tried updating the drivers and all tha tgood stuff but to no avail. other people have suggested updating drivers to me but that was the first step i took.
the wifi link didn't even work before i installed windows 7, so it must be a hardware issue that i'm unaware of.

What brand of card is it, ACER list the intel 5100, Broadcomm, Ralink for it...

The usual issue is that the cards own software not driver (you know all the bundeled c**p that you use to manage your wireless networks) is the issue.... To get round this, use ACERs network management and disable the windows zero config.. If that doesn't work, use the ACER stuff first, set and save a profile, then disable it and use the windows zero config...
