now are we assuming this is 100% isopropyl alco. or just the normal cleaning alco you get at the drugstore?

also qhn shouldnt your little message say "is invisible" not "am invisible" or "I am invisible"

It could - if highly conductive debris (e.g.,metal filings/dust) were to bridge the positive and negative contacts of the battery. (that would be highly unlikely unless you work in a machine shop, but if you're afraid of that, discharge the battery before cleaning)

As for alcohol type - the higher the concentration you can get, the better the cleansing strength and less residue left over per cleaning. The 70% number I have provided is based on what can easily be found in the market and provides pretty good cleaning.

All this talk about alcohol reminds me - Happy New Year to all!!

yes im replying to my old thread

anyhow problem stills persists
however i havent gotten a volt charger due to not having the time/money to aquire one (unless there is a software version).

by now its been... an hour i'd say to charge the computer from 3% to 5%. now its always good at charging 50% and higher (perhaps lower, didnt test; this happened purely by accident).

its annoying.

my friend (who has a mac; if that makes a difference) says batteries tend to have to be replaced every year or so.
is that true? since ive basically had this computer since november 08

Li-Ion batteries do wear out. 2 to 3 years I think would be more average but yes some less some more. 2008 yes your battery could be bad.

ok im just calling it a lion battery now

its odd that it charged 0% while at school (40 minutes, turned brightness down while in "entertainment" mode.

charged 2% in like 1 hr. and suddenly started charging up like normal recently.

its oddly confusing....

is there a software i can use to check if the battery is healthy?
Notebook Hardware Control is free and will give you some info like wear level and how much of a charge it is holding and how much it did once.

Battery Bar is another free program that monitors battery charge/discharge and wear status.

most probably one of those two things.

i will lean toward the battery though.

now the battery wear is 14.0% of 51,260 mWh.
yet the cpacity is 42,350 mWh of 44,077 mWh

anyone able to explain these numbers for me?
