I received a Dell Latitude C600/C500 from a freecycler. It runs on a fully charged battery, but will not start up with the AC adapter (which is new and has been tested on another Dell.) Also will not charge or recharge the battery. I've examined the motherboard and there is no burn marks. The only apparent damage I could find is the AC adapter plug post on the motherboard looks like it was bent, but all solder points and power grid looks good.
Does this mean that I have to replace the motherboard?
Also is there a way to recharge the Li-ion battery modules with out using the laptop?
Any good adive is greatly weclomed! John
