Acer Extensa 5630Z Screen resolution help!

I might be going nuts maybe??? But i could swear when i first bought this PC the screen resolution would go more than 1280 x 800.

Can someone please confirm this!!! I loaded win XP and the screen would not go smaller, i thought it was a problem with the drivers.

So i reformated the PC with Win Vista Ultimate. The same problem remains the resolution won't go beyond that setting, am i doing something wrong or is this all this monitor can handle?

The internal LCD specs is 1280x800 (or less). I would not push it more than that unless you are using an external monitor.
