toshiba x205-s7483 HELP

am looking to purchase a used x205-s7483 laptop, person selling it says she hooked it up to tv to watch dvds and it went blank.
says the fans run and processors are making noise like they are working(?) any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
I'm new here and would like to stay for a long time!!!!

How much are you paying? With what you say hard to diagnose as so many possibilities? But failure to display on internal and external screen can indicate GPU up to MoBo issue neither being good on a notebook. But it could also be as simple as a key was hit that turned off the video output? Shows nothing on startup?
