Acer 5315 won't post/boot

I have an Acer Aspire 5315 (Vista) that will not start. When you push the power button the power light comes on for 9 or 10 seconds then goes off. I've tried with/out the battery installed. I have held down the power button for 60 seconds without any power connected/installed. I have reseated the RAM. Tried a different AC Adapter, nothing. Does the CMOS battery need changing? Nothing seems to help. Does anybody have any ideas?

You can try taking out the CMOS battery, then re-installing it. I am afraid that the board might be failing.

The CMOS battery appears to be non-removable without a soldering iron.

Not a good sign. I take it that warranty is out of the question.

I can only suggest that you try "baking" your board and hope that it can revive your comp. Search the forum for how-to guides, we have plenty of threads and posts here.

Maybe others have a different idea.

I believe I have a mobo issue and I was just trying to avoid sending it in for warranty work. But hey, the warranty is paid for so why not. Thanks to all.
