What is your notebook model? You might want to post in the appropriate section and get input from there as well.
My notebook is a Sager NP2098, and I know this topic is for sony notebooks. But I've searched the forum and this is the only topic about the matshita UJ880AS, that is the same drive i have on my notebook, and I want to upgrade its firmware.
The only thing I want is the link to download the UJ880AS firmware, cause in the sony site I only found the UJ880AD firmware and I can't find it anywhere on the internet. I searched on matshita/panasonic site but without success. I think this is not against the copy right law or another one.
No problem, I just want to know the brand/model to try narrowing down some searches. Toshiba, Acer ... naming a few, do use this UJ880AS as optical drive.
I'll dig some more in the morning, it is almost midnight here for me
Cross check your models if you are outside Europe customers.
This is due to a BIOS command error. Owners of these models are encouraged to contact Sony for repair the system is already being damaged, or go straight to Sony Support to download the proper BIOS version for the affected models.
