Upgrading video Extensa 4420

Thread Starter
According to the specs I have the following video setup.

ATI Radeon X1250 with up to 896 MB of HyperMemory
(256 MB of dedicated system memory, up to 640 MB of shared system memory), supporting Microsoft DirectX 9, PCI Express

This notebook comes with 2gb of ram. I was under the impression that if I added more I could increase the amount of shared memory to 640mb. I increased it to 3gb and find that doesn't increase the available amount in BIOS settings still shows 256mb as maximum shared ram for video.

Is there a way to adjust that figure?

I don't think that you can adjust that number in BIOS. The Hyper Memory is on demand, meaning when it needs to, it will get it where it can.

cheers ...
