D820 and battery issue

My battery is fully charged, according to both the PC power monitor and the button and LED's on the battery. If the AC power supply is removed the computer dies. Its like the battery is not connected to the laptop.

Before this problem cropped up, the computer would die while I was using it on battery power. I could continue using on battery power if I removed the battery for a minute and replaced it. I was good to go for a few hours after that.

Any suggestions??
TIA.

Battery is failing! But the adapter could also be the culprit. Can you run the notebook with the adapter alone?

Yep

I would try with another battery then. Simple thing to look for before thinking about the hard stuff.

Battery is dead, but don't feel bad, my D820 has eaten 3 batteries in the 4 years I've owned it. (Discharging 3+ times per day is hell on batteries)

Sometimes the battery has a bad cell or bad wiring. Even if the battery shows it has a full charge, it will discharge within minutes.

Try with another battery if available. this sounds like a bad battery issue and a replacement is needed.
