Crossfire 4870 or SLI 260M

Dell forgot to charge me as they misplaced my card details, it's now 6 months later and they want their money! To say I'm pissed is understatement!

To cut a long story short, I want a better laptop six months down the line! I don't think I should pay full price for an old laptop, seeing as it was their mistake! I have the M17x with sli 260M's... they currently don't do the SLI 260M's, but have decided to replace them with crossfire 4870's. Is it worth asking them to replace the GPU's and lower the price of the laptop?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks
Spike

I obviously meant the 4870! Sorry for the misunderstanding So the crossfire 4870 is on par with the sli 280's???

Thanks again in advance for the replies!!

well the 4870's are quite a bit faster than the 260's out of the box but are just a bit faster than the 280's out of the box. but from what i hear they overclock very well and when overclocked give you about a 20% boost over the stock 280's which is not bad at all

Prefer the Nv drivers though, so my vote goes with the SLI setup.

When both are OC'ed the 4870s are 20% faster.

Thanks guys! I will ask for them to replace my HD (which is 5200rpm) for 7200rpm drives they currently use and also get them to replace the gpu's, especially considering they terminated the 260M for the better 4870's.

Thanks!
