4 Hours into Mass Effect 3.
The fellas over at Bioware have managed to disappointing me yet again. I'm four hours into the game and it feels like I've hardly played. So far there's barely any dialog choice trees to choose from. It's like playing like Metal Gear Solid 4. Cut-scenes rolls while the story catches you up between ME2 and the present, and all of a sudden you're on the friggin Normandy! No "hi Joker how have you been? It's just me, Shepard, your old pal trying to save the universe for a 3rd straight time. Ho hum".
Of what gameplay there was, and as brief as it was, serves merely as a tutorial. I mean, come on... who starting the Mass Effect series on the 3rd game anyway?? The new hand to hand combat is a joke. Feels tossed in during the last stages of the game. Barely effective on the weaker enemies.
Then there's the Citadel. There's no familiar places to visit, there's no open world like there was in the first game it's all handed to you on a platter. Go here, talk here and GTFO.
The concept this time around is interesting, instead of having to build your team like in ME2 you need to recruit races to help save earth. But nothing feels rushed!! Our planet gets invaded and we're having small talk on the ship.
More to come as I play...
