You spend $800+ when you're bored?

As long as it has resale value then yes.

Yes, I'm one of the few people who haven't jumped to steam yet. Trying to resist it.

What about your existing games on DVD? Just don't play them?

I wasn't that much of a gamer before. For the last 12 years I was married, and didn't have time for gaming. The only games I did get into were flight simulators, and I had those already downloaded to an external HDD for installation on other systems when needed.

I downloaded a cracked version of the Borderlands.exe file to make that game work. Something I shouldn't have to do since I paid for the game. When I get my M17x I'll reconsider steam again.

Well after 24 hours with the M11x I don't think I will keep it. First the bad, the keyboard is very difficult for me to work with. I already have a Dell Mini 10 and the keys seem to be more responsive. The LCD is below average, washed out and the viewing angles are some of the worst I've seen. The "sweet spot" for viewing is a very small area. Lastly there is a lot of wasted space with a huge border on the panel. It just looks odd. The good, I had no issues playing Borderlands with mostly high settings at the full native res. Heat wasn't an issue but then again I kept in on top of a cooler. Over all it seems well built, except for the keyboard and of course the size makes it easily portable. I'm going to try it with an external monitor on Friday for a full 1920x1080 gaming experience. I will more than likely be returning it the week after.

Would you post some pics where the fingers and fingertips look like in conjunction with the keyboard?

This is an interesting observation. I am playing (again) with my Toshiba NB200-12R for the past few days and trying to get a feel on the keyboard here myself.

cheers ...

I didn't have a problem with either the LCD nor the keyboard. It's very easy to use and as far as screen angle I must be using the sweet spot, because it's crisp and clear.

Good one. The TAB key is much larger than my Toshiba. I will put pics up when the review is done, hopefully by this weekend.

cheers ...

The 5870s have hit the European Dell site. US should have them around 8am CST.
