Any word on why they aren't available in Crossfire?

Team Blackhawk hinted that it is coming just not available yet. This is the reason for the initial delay but I thought it would be fixed by now. If you want crossfire you need to wait longer.

They are a special CS team Dell has. They have more training and expertize than the regular CS group.

So I've been following a thread on another forum all day.

Apparently the CF option was made available in some (but not all) countries, and then removed from some (but not all) of those in which it was initially made available. Currently, it seems it can be ordered via the Ireland and Norway sites.

This then spawned a host of theories ranging from "its a problem with the initial batch of cards Dell got, they're missing the CF connectors" to "its a technical problem with the whole series and it'll never happen," but the common belief is that anyone who orders via the EPP is able to change their order up until the system ships, and thus would be able to upgrade to a CF configuration when and if it becomes available.

So, my plan is to order my system today or within the next few days, and hope I can upgrade it before it ships.

To make an EPP order by phone, do I call an Alienware sales number and give them my EPP Member ID, or do I call the EPP sales number?

Thanks.

Just call the EPP sale number. 90% of the time they will NOT change your order. You have to get lucky and get a rep that is willing to. It's against their policy.

I think we are still a week away from being able to order it online but has anyone tried calling in an order?

Yes, I tried calling in an order - I ordered my system yesterday afternoon. Crossfire was not available at the time, but the rep said I could call her and change my order if it becomes available before the system ships.

I would highly doubt it. USB 3.0 isn't even showing up in desktop motherboards yet, and from what I've heard, isn't expected until early next year.

I think he meant AW is the best of the Dell line for gaming. USB 3 does nothing for gaming.
