5920G Dead Screen Problem

Hello,

I’ve been trying to figure out why my acer 5920g’s screen isn’t working. Here is the recap on what happened.

The laptop was on a sleep state for a good 8-9 hours and when I tried to wake it up all I got was a dead screen but I can hear the cpu running. As you may have already guessed I did a hard reboot and the same thing occur. At first I suspected that my video card died, but I realized my sound isnt working either.

Is this a video card problem, a cpu problem, or a hard drive problem? Any opinion is much appreciated.

We can try to eliminate the GPU and screen issues by plugging an external monitor to your notebook first. If it works, then LCD, if not ...

cheers ...

I tried hooking up a monitor to it, but nothing happened.
So it seems to be a video card problem, but why did the sound disappear? You know the startup windows sound before u login

sounds more like a no post issue. reseat memory, swap memory if you can. if that fails, the mainboard may have failed.
