looking into the HP dv8t Quad

I'm about to order a HP dv8t Quad core. I want a desktop replacement to replace my old dv8000t (17") which usually just stays plugged in in the living room. Here are the specs that I'm looking at:
i7-720QM(1.6GHz)
8GB DDR3
500GB 7200rpm
1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 230M
18.4" Infinity Display (1920x1080p)
Bluray +/-R/RW
Webcam, fingerprint reader
wireless-N card with bluetooth
long life battery
$1,607.91 pre-tax or shipping

p.s. I was also looking at the dv7t quad, but the lower screen resolution detracted me from that.
Any suggestions for a diff configuration or an alternate system?

PORN, lots of porn. LOL. Seriously though, I do a lot of video rendering, and photoshop, as well as CAD (Microstation). I'll prob get a sweet game to work out the GPU also. Used to play WoW, but I've been on the wagon for about 2 years now. :P

Good specs for what you want to do. For the price range, how about an ASUS G73? We have good discussions about this model in the ASUS section here at NBF.

cheers ...
