Picked up a G72 and a G60 soon after.
I have always had Thinkpad stuff for the last 8 years. I always wanted a fast laptop, not neccessarily for gaming, but just general speed. I bought the wife a G72 laptop to replace her Thinkpad T60 a month ago. It is a really nice laptop, and i liked it so much i bought a G60-RX009 laptop a few days ago for myself. (The 009 version has upgraded cpu, battery, and hard disk.) The only drawback to the Asus laptops is no docking station capability. I have my main gaming PC for real action, but i might try some games on this laptop also.

Anyways.. i def recommend the asus laptop.

From a ThinkPad owner that does mean something. ThinkPad build quality is just considered superior. Of course not really fair to compare business class to consumer class. But nice that you were not immediately put off. I had a ThinkPad and I have an Asus also. While I will never say Asus is on that level (build) it is for what it is very good in my opinion.

Any wishes of getting a G73JH-A1?

ASUS can be tenacious. My Z92T is still pushing the limit on XP with zero issue.

cheers ...

Just to be clear what I mean by build is materials and construction not the superiority of components. ThinkPads handle drops and bangs better. Less flex that kind of stuff only.
