Im really turned off by Sony's pictures they have for this range of laptops. They have a picture which seems to depict an optical drive, yet no drive is really included. I searched the Specs page for like 10 minutes trying to figure out if there really was a drive or not.

Apparently not

Yes it is disappointing that a 13.3" notebook does not come with an optical drive.

cheers ...

I like the looks of it; Plus it's less than $800, which says a lot for Sony.

I was looking at their Z series but their asking price was really steep.

I will have to check out. For me Sony is always hit or mis from model to model doing better in the smaller form factors. They once led the 13.3" in my opinion. But always at a cost. I do hope this does well but Asus has longer batt life and same price point (approx).
