acer arcade deluxe?

so i have the 5739g and i have the media touchpad with supposedly should start up acer arcade deluxe only when i press the media button when the laptop is off. Instead when i press the arcade deluxe button the laptop starts then just turns off. i think this is a pretty cool feature and would save lots of battery life without having to startup windows, but how do i get this to work properly?

OS when delivered: windows 7 home premium & currently the same OS.

as far as i can tell from the reading i've been doing is that acer arcade deluxe is located also on a separate partition. let me start from the beginning:

bought 5739g, tried arcade deluxe button when off, no dice. would turn on laptop and just have a "_" on top left corner and not do anything. Installed bluray disc drive and found out current version of arcade deluxe doesnt play bluray. uninstalled version 3.0 of arcade deluxe and isntalled version 2.0 (which does support bluray). Everything works within windows. but the option to start arcade deluxe while laptop is off through mediabuttons does not work. Currently when i press the button with laptop off, laptop will start and then shutdown.

hope this clarifies it a bit.

^^ I like this post of yours Very clear!

I can only say that we need to dig up an updated 3.0 version that would support Blu-Ray and try again

(Michelle... where are you?)

cheers ...

the arcade partition might not be loaded correctly. try a recovery (Alt+F10) and that should rebuild everything.

of course, back everything up first as this will wipe everything away.

aww man i was hoping i wouldnt have to go that route. i've got way too many programs installed to have to do this. there isnt a way to reinstall to just the arcade partition? and why is it that we cannot see the arcade partition in windows.
