Please help me with Acer TImeline AS4810T!

Okay here is the scoop. I bought my wife a Gateway for school at it kept on crashing for the last 2 weeks. So she sent it back to Tiger Direct and they talked her into a Acer Timeline AS4810T. Now she just recieved it yesterday and I ahve found out the Bios, LAN and CPU needs the drives updated. I have tried to do some research on it but I am over in Iraq so my computer time is limited. Can someone please help me out with the updated drives? My wife isn't really to hip on figuring this out herself. Any help would be greatly aprreciated! Thanks, Terry

P.S. here is the complete model number:
Acer TImeline AS4810T-8480 Notebook PC - Intel Core 2 Solo ULV SU3500 1.4GHz, 4GB DDR3, 320GB HDD, DVDRW, 14" TFT, Vista Home Premium 64-bit

Any particular reasons why the need of update for BIOS /CPU and LAN? OS drivers level is more than fine to keep any notebooks going.

Your best bet is Acer Support site . Plug in "notebook" "Aspire" and "aspire 4810T" then choose the corresponding OS for the drivers.

Give that a try first.

Thanks for the reply but out of the box every person who has bought this laptop has actually had to go to the Acer site and update the BIOS, LAN and Video Card. If you use the update manager it says the updates are fine. Well I was a little disappointed that they talked her into it since she is having issues multitasking for school already with it. I did the Acer support site but she told me today she isn't going to deal with it she is just going to pick up another Gateway locally to us instead of having to ship stuff back and forth. That is he decision since I understand she doesn' really have time to deal with it right now. So Thanks for replying it is greatly appreciated.

No problem, I hope that your lady can get a system that works out of the box for her. Best thing is pay the shop some extra $ to personalize it before she takes the comp home.

A little update she did get a RMA for the Acer and she picked up a new Gateway locally. She loves it so that is all that matters. Thanks again for your time, Terry.

Oh and the laptop she bought was a Gateway NV5378u. What is kind of funny is that the salesman at Bestbuy tried to do a switch-a-roo on my wife at the register for one that was a 100 dollars more and he thought she wouldn't question him about it. So he tried to tell my wife the other one had more features and he thought she would be happier with it. To bad he didn't discuss that with her beforehand. And he couldn't tell her what other features it had. Some shady people in this world that is for sure. Luckily she is happy in the end and that is all that matters right now. Thanks again.
