Pentium Mobile 1.6 Ghz 2 MB L2 Cache 533 FSB
DDR2 2 GB Kignston 667 running at 400 Mhz (which sucks since they were running fine on my another Inspiron 6000 @ 533, I guess chipset is not capable of)
Western Digital 160 GB, 8 MB Cache, 5400 RPM PATA.
Intel Chipset 915 GM
Intel Graphics 915 GM 128 MB
Intel Wireless Pro 2200 BG
14.1 Widescreen
This laptop originally came with:
Intel Celeron M 380 1.6 Ghz / 400 FSB / 1MB L2
2 x 256 DDR2 PC3200
Hitachi 80 GB PATA 5400 RPM / 8 MB
Dell Wireless 1370
One year ago I upgraded my Inspiron 6000 with new ram (2 x 1 GB 667) and a new Hard Drive: WD 160 GB 5400 RPM.
During my last travel my Inspiron 6000 just refused to take charge and I was told at Dell certified center to get a new motherboard for it (which is crazy considering the high price of it).
So I just put it the best components of the two Inspiron and now I have a nice Inspiron 3000.
I did the pinmod (search on google for Pentium M pin mod) with a Celeron 380 1.6 Ghz. Bios didn't recognize it but in windows properties yes! It worked fine, 2.160 Ghz. But I just removed it since Celeron doesn't have Intel Speedstep, and was always running at 2.1 GHz. Also temperatures were always high (I can live with that, but battery life is non existent), maybe if I can a Pentium Mobile 400 FSB I'll try again
