Clean install on NV5378u?

Thread Starter
I bought a Gateway NV5378u from Best Buy a few nights ago and would like to do a clean/fresh install of Win 7 on it, without all of the crap that came preloaded. I have made the recovery discs, which I assume is a copy of the factory install.

Is there a way just to put the plain jane Win 7 operating system on it without all of the other junk?

Thanks,

Sure, get yourself the installation W7 disk and just go for it (making sure that you leave the recovery partition alone).

How about just removing the apps that you don't want instead? This will save you some headaches in searching for drivers.

cheers ...

I'll contact Gateway and see if they will send me the install disc. It gives me the option to make a recovery disc, but unfortunately it includes all of the extra junk

Thanks...

There are links to where you can download either 32-bit or 64-bit (what the NV53 comes with) direct from I believe Microsoft or Digital River. Just download the ISO, burn, and install. All you have to do is use the product key on the bottom of your computer.
