Changing Notebook Chassis

Hey guys!... new guy here! ^_^

i thought i might ask for your help.... i have an oldish notebook, but i have grown attached to it (the notebook in question is an HP COMPAQ 6720s), so i would like to spice it up a little on the outside.

i would like to change its Chassis/Casing. i have found nothing on the internet, until i finally found a company that can create it for me. The problem being of course that they require a CAD drawing of the parts to manufacture. thats not a problem for me.

I was hoping to find the exact measurements of the casing somewhere in HP website, but i was unsuccessful. without them, i would need to grab a ruler and start measuring my casing... which will lead to a certain overall FAIL!

can you guys suggest something??

thank a lot!

Here's a good way to measure a laptop/notebook.

...in addition too if possibly you could get another type like your model(defective or an empty shell case)somewhere for cheap.

Let us know if/how that projects going so far.

Did you ever get anywhere on this?

I have an EON18 and am trying to swap the keyboard with either the M17x back lit keyboard or a custom back lit keyboard and it would be great to know of a company that could fab up a new plate that goes around the keyboard.
