Asus G51vx refurb?

Thread Starter
i'm really considering this laptop right now, and i'm wondering if you guys can talk me into it or out of it. I'm a pretty heavy gamer thats always on the move. My current setup is an acer 5739g with a 240m graphics card w/ t6600 processor, but the gtx260m in the g51vx is so tempting. I can get a refurb for roughly $650. Someone tell me if i'm going to see a huge increase from my current setup to this laptop.

if i do bite the bullet, selling the acer would probably net me a loss. =(

Can't do wrong with that "refurbished" ASUS

Specs are solid. We own a previous model (G50) and it can really perform in games.

cheers ...

The video card is certainly better (10k vs. 6k on 3DMark06), but I don't know that it would be $650 worth better than your current notebook. Basically, I'm not sure that it's monetarily worth it for you.

Xotic got 9500 3DMark w/q9000 9850 w/q9300. Asus slightly underclocked the 260 and it does push it's thermal limits more than some like.

Djembe he can offset the $650 by selling his Acer and that does make it even more appealing?

I say yea go for it I mean it will game better. What CPU? I mean $650 does sound real good the more I think unless it is the BB model. If so still a fair deal just not as good. BB will have a few hundred less 3DMark.
