Acer Aspire One D250 Question

Thread Starter
Alright I have looked at every single piece of literature I can find and I am stumped. I have an eMachines EM250 (mechanically identical to the AO D250) and I can not for the life of me figure out what the small card slot on the bottom of the computer is. I know the memory slot and the HDD slot but the third slot is a mystery. I think it is a mini-PCI slot for a solid state memory module but I'd like to find a definitive answer before I go any further. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a pic for us?

The large one on the right is the HDD. The middle is the Memory. The one on the left is described as expansion slot. So waht is it qhn? WiFi?

Got no idea. I need the pic first before taking a guess. Michelle can hit it spot on when she comes by.

Save the image to your drive and then post it. Are you confident that it will be what OP talked about?

qhn I will but it does have NBC tag? Is it just you don't want to steal their bandwidth? If so I will do exactly as you said and I am as certain as can be from description. You can see it is empty and can see the connection contacts.

There is nothing wrong with borrwing a specific pic to be used in context of the thread, and givng credit as to where/whom you have the pic from, in the form or "pic credit to such and such site/person".

After doing a little research and happening across an article in CPU I think the slot may well be intended for one of these.

From both sides the first is OP's. Does it help?

qhn I could not figure out how to save and post? Unless you mean my own posting? If there is a way show me, if not and you want me to do on my own let me know I mean I can do but linking is easy.

I usually save the pic to the local drive, then attach it within the post. Simple ... and give credit where credit is due

that would be the minicard slot. initially intended for 3G cards, but can be also used for the HD decoders. No SATA lanes though, so no SSD in that slot.

I guessed correctly? Hot dog ...

Michelle does 3G count as wi-fi? If so double hot dog? I was correct or maybe I wasn't.

qhn I don't understand the attachment thing you speak of. Maybe one of those "street smart, book stupid" or "book smart, street stupid" things but I really do not know how to do? Any tip for the future?

If you go into "advanced" (Post Quick Reply / Go Advanced)before posting, there are other options that you can use for posting. Attachment is one of them.

3G is not wifi, but you still could put a wifi card in there. Of course, why would you need a netbook with 2 wifi cards.

the D250 already has a half-height minicard underneath the keyboard.
