Asus G73jh Info Thread!!! - Page 10

Did that already and you wouldn't believe the amount of complaints Toshiba already has pending on their site and try doing a search at the department of consumer affairs and it's loaded with Toshiba clients swearing they'd never again buy a Toshiba product as I wouldn't ever do business with Toshiba again. I lost 3 months of warrantee just on this one event.

Ouch. But interesting. This would add onto my list of high performance notebooks with "lots" of hiccups. Something simple I hope.

cheers ...

Anyone know where I can find an A1 in stock from a repudable? I don't know that I can wait as long as XOTIC is backed up...
If you read the G73 wait thread at Xotic someone is always posting places with stock.

BB has some I think lower resolution. NewEgg or Egghead had some yesterday I believe. The backlog is getting smaller so wait should start being less soon.

Yep .. April is just around the corner. Everyone should receive new deliveries.

Hi, Markgee here, so far all is working well with my G-73, A1 model. I'm still waiting to load some software a friend has worked on for our intranet etc.. I love the back lighing on the keyboard and it showing as a very stable power notebook. Last week I called the VP over at PNY who at one time used a lot of our RF Welding equipment to encapsulate their ram for retail stores and tried to get the DDR3 modules from him (no charge) but he said they didn't even have it yet. For a company that size you'd think they'd have it already. So far there is nothing I can complain about. Anyone with issues or good experiences like mine should post there reviews. I don't see that many review on the A1 model. Or I haven't been looking in the right places. I curious how long it will take Asus to fix and return yours after your blue light and keyboard light went out. Please let me know the turn around time.
I still didn't get back my toshiba still out since Jan. 18th. Now that's insane! So I hope Asus does better for you. Gday

They've had my system since Monday and when I visit the repair status part of their site it shows no progress.
Can anyone post their thoughts or even sample pics of the 2.0 MP unit on the non best buy units? My 1.3 from BB is "ok" but not nearly as good as the isight on my MBP...which is leaving the wife a little less enthused. So I have to decide between returning for an A1/A2 or just forking over for a USB option...
It will be tough to say. It all depends on the software and driver that come with the cam. Apple and Sony "1.3" built-in cams are still the best in my book. I have tried many usb cams with different pix in the past and must say that the simple old HP 2MP USB cam beats the crowd easily.

cheers ...

Assuming my system comes back from repair I plan on selling it right away. I'm hoping they replace it to make the sale easier.

Sent both my Thinkpad and G73 out for repair last week. My Thinkpad comes back today and I have zero updates from Asus. They told me to check back on Friday. Asus=Fail.

NW I ordered two G73's. What is up with upgrading these? As I understand even simple things like CPU upgrade has a sticker so voids the warranty. Is that true. Tell me more.

The warranty sticker is covering one of the screws for the CPU heatsink. It's not the type of sticker you can easily pull off and stick back on.

Very much the on going strategy of notebook manufacturers. The minute you stick the screw driver in, it (the warranty) is gone

cheers ...

Probably why my repair status isn't moving.

I was told today that my system is being replaced. No idea why. The scary thing is they said I was missing pieces like my hdd and optical drive. I definitely had everything in the box when I sent it back so I don't know what they are trying to pull.
