okay , i can't seem to get any sleep over trying to decide on a laptop . i do alot of sound installation/ live audio sequencing and home electroacoustic recording . i am trying to find a laptop under $ 1500.00 with at least 2.8ghz processor and a minimum of 512 ram . but , i've noticed that alot of the laptops have alot of similar features and the prices range from $1000 to $4000 for something that to me looks the same . i've been intrigued by Sager , but they can get pricey.. but i have found some Toshiba and Dells on ebay which are dramatically cheaper . i plan on adding an external sound ( i.e audigy 2 nx ) and even a usb harddrive . so , what should i look for at this point ? is it necessary to really spend the extra thousands of dollars when a $1200 Toshiba will do ? any help would be appreciated .
