They both have pretty much identical specs (the GTS 360M video card = the GTX 260M), so the only differences are that the Asus has a couple more gigs of memory and a better standard warranty, they have a different look, and one is $500 more.

So if you're really an Alienware fan, by all means get that one, but if I were you, I'd save $500 and get the Asus.

But Djembe rember 360 has 128bit bus? If GDDR5 cool but if not could be an issue?

To OP confirm the Asus has GDDR5. If so clearly a better deal.

According to every stat I have seen on the ASUS it is:

Video Graphics nVidia GeForce GTS 360M 1GB GDDR5 VRAM

I like the Asus but the GPU is the wild card. I want to make sure Asus did not do any underclocking. As Djembe said GTS360m=GTX260m and that sounds like a good guess. The 96SP's vs 112SP's makes me want to see some real numbers first. I know very close but not sure how close and which edges the other out. But that said no way I will see $500 difference.

I have not read Asus bragging about new design on this like they are about the G73. So that concerns me about the thermal solution. Their last two gaming 15" had slight thermal concerns and the last had underclocked GPU.

Use the $500 for something else

cheers ...

The GTX 360 is actually slightly better than the GTX 260 according to notebookcheck . com.

So i would say the Asus is better and it has a better warranty and in a recent survey. Asus topped the Reliability over 2 -3 years.
